Zusammenfassung:	The sealing ring for especially for screw plugs (2) on a flange face (3) has a rigid support element (9) installed between the flange face and screw plug and lies against these components by support faces (10,11). The sealing ring (1) has at least one sealing element (14,16) radially adjacent to at least one of the support faces, and the sealing elements are designed so that they seal the gap face (6) radially on both sides against the environment. In the unloaded state the sealing elements protrude in the axial direction of the support element beyond the support faces. An independent claim is included of a use for the sealing ring which is for installed on a screw plug on a flange face of an engine block.
