Zusammenfassung:A chip module (2) for data and/or energy transfer between the chip card and an external terminal has a strip conductor foil with a sealed chip. Linked electronically to the chip module, a display (3) with a display area displays data. The chip module and the display are held in a common cavity (4) on the card's body (5). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a display linked to a chip module; (b) a chip card for a portable data carrier; (c) a combined chip and display module that has a chip module with a strip conductor foil with a chip sealer; and (d) a method for producing a combined chip and display module.
