The needle has integral optics in its tip, which are used to generate a plasma at the surface of an object under examination by production of laser light pulses at the material surface. The device also has an arrangement for spectral evaluation of the energy emitted by the plasma and for time-integrated observation of plasma emission at at least two defined wavelengths. |
