The device has a configurable transformation module to transform a primary data of a management information tree (MIT), to persistent data based on persistence models. The models are associated to different storing units e.g. flat file or database. The primary data is stored in the units associated to the models used for its transformation. The module transforms the data by generating data tables based on a format of the units. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a management server of a network management system, having an equipment management system for a communication network; (b) a network equipment comprising an equipment management system; (c) a method of managing the persistence of the data for a communication network having multiple network equipment units; and (d) utilization of a management device, the management server, the network equipment, the equipment management system and management process.
