1. A process for preparing a composition, particularly for hydrocarbon asphalts, comprising a mixture of hydrocarbon binder and polyolefin, wherein at least some of the hydrocarbon binder molecules are chemically bound to the polyolefin molecules by covalent bonds, characterized in that (a) free radicals are created on the polyolefin - either directly by the action of gamma rays, followed by the action of oxygen on the radicals prepared by the preceding method, - or indirectly by thermal decomposition of peroxides and hydroperoxides obtain by the combined action of ozone and oxygen on the polyolefin, and (b) the polyolefin thus activated is then reacted with the hydrocarbon binder.
