Zusammenfassung:	A reagent composition comprises an enzyme, redox mediator and mediator-stabilizing buffer to stabilize the redox mediator. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electrochemical cell which comprises a reagent composition; (2) an electrochemical test strip which comprises electrochemical cell; (3) method for making an electrochemical test strip, which involves using reagent composition; (4) a method for determining the concentration of an analyte in a sample, which involves applying the sample to an electrochemical cell, detecting an electrical signal produced by the cell and relating the detected electrical signal to the concentration of the analyte in the sample; (5) kit for determining the concentration of an analyte in a physiological sample, which comprises an electrochemical test strip, and sample obtainment element and an analyte standard; and (6) a system which comprises an electrochemical test strip and meter for reading the test strip.
