Zusammenfassung:	A sheet metal holder presents pre-cut flat sheets of metal to a bending press (1). The holder has a manipulator (11) to grip and lift the sheet metal components (3) by e.g. suction or magnetic pads (15) operated by an electronic control system. The assembly further incorporates an opto-electroic measuring system (16) to determine the position of the sheet metal components, and a transparent panel (19) within a surrounding rigid frame (17). Also claimed is a commensurate operating process.
