Plantation for treating organic effluents comprises one or more islands laid out on land that slopes down to a bottom zone, with an effluent supply in the upper zones, a collector in the bottom zone and optionally a pump for recycling liquid from the collector. The plantation comprises plant species whose roots are capable of removing pollutants from the effluents. An independent claim is also included for treatment of organic effluents by spraying or spreading the effluents on a bamboo plantation, cutting the culms from the grown plants and transporting them from the plantation, and optionally recovering non-infiltrated effluents for retreatment.
