Filtration unit (1) comprises a filter housing (2) for removing the filtrate and with tubular ceramic filter elements (4, 4') that the non-filtrate to pass through. The filter elements are in two groups, in which the elements are connected to a device for introducing the non-filtrate. The non-filtrate in the first group of elements flows in the flow direction into the second group in a counter direction. An Independent claim is also included for a process for filtering liquids using the filtration unit. Preferred Features: The non-filtrate is fed to one side of the filter housing and removed. A feed line (7) joins the first group of filter elements of the filter housing and a removal line (8) joins the other group of filter elements of the filter housing. The filter elements of one group are directly parallel.
