Zusammenfassung:	Thickeners (I), based on non-ionic aqueous preparation in water dispersible or water soluble polyurethane, which is prepared by reaction of one or more polyfunctional isocyanate with one or more polyether polyols, one or more monofunctional alcohol (comprising 2-n-butyl-1-octanol) and optionally one or more functional alcohols where these compounds do not contain any other functional group except OH groups, are new. An independent claim is also included for a thickening agent concentrate comprising (a) water, (b) the non ionic water dispersible or water soluble polyurethane and (c) optionally organic solvents and/or nonionic surfactants of ethylene- and/or propylene oxide bonded to 8-18C fatty alcohols.
