VERWENDUNG VON ZUSAMMENSETZUNGEN AUF BASIS VON ZINKSALZEN AROMATISCHER UND NICHTAROMATISCHER CARBONS UREN ZUR STABILISIERUNG VON HALOGENHALTIGEN ORGANISCHEN KUNSTSTOFFEN

The invention relates to compositions containing zinc salts of: a) one or several saturated or olefinically unsaturated, straight-chained or branched monocarboxylic acids with 6 - 36 C atoms and b) one or several aromatic carboxylic acids selected from the group benzoic acids and benzoic acids substituted with one or several C1-5-alkyl radicals, amino groups, hydroxyl groups or additional carboxyl groups which are obtained by mixing zinc salts of aromatic carboxylic acids (b), having a particle size greater than 0.1 mm, in a predefined melt of zinc salts of (non-aromatic) monocarboxylic acids (a); or mixing zinc salts of aromatic carboxylic acids (b), having a particle size greater than 0.1 mm, in a predefined melt of (non-aromatic) monocarboxylic acids (a); or mixing aromatic carboxylic acids (b) in a predefined melt of zinc salts of (non-aromatic) monocarboxylic acids (a) and subsequently, transforming the aromatic carboxylic acids (b) into zinc salts thereof by adding zinc oxide, zinc hydroxide or zinc carbonate and heating during stirring whereby the volatile subsidiary products, water or carbon dioxide, escape; or mixing aromatic carboxylic acids (b) in a predefined melt of (non-aromatic) monocarboxylic acids (a) and subsequently, transforming the monocarboxylic acids (a) and also the aromatic carboxylic acids (b) into zinc salts thereof by adding zinc oxide, zinc hydroxide or zinc carbonate and heating during stirring, whereby the volatile subsidiary products, water or carbon dioxide, escape. The inventive compositions are suitable for stabilising organic plastics containing halogen against thermal and/or photochemical decomposition.
