Zusammenfassung:	The procedure consists of digging a trench (8) to expose the pipe (2) so that a branch can be fitted by means of a collar in two hinged halves (12, 22). The fitting tool consists of a support (36) with a holder (38) and an articulated shoe (40) with thrust elements (58, 60) on a rocking bar (56). The shoe is moved by an actuator (44) to close the lower half-collar (22) against the underside of the pipe while its fixing bolt (46) is fitted and tightened. Once the braanch has ben fitted the pipe is pierced to make a connection with it.
