Zusammenfassung:	A socket 910) for halogen lamps, especially a socket made out of ceramic or similar material for discharge lamps with a G8.5 socket, has a two-part socket body which comprises the electrical contacts, a collar 912) for the lamp socket to protect against touching plus lead-through openings for the leads to be connected and/or lead-through openings for the lamp contact pins. The tw parts (11,12) of the socket housing are fastened to each other, especially riveted. One of the two socket parts has at least one lateral wall opening (22) in the touch-prevention collar as a ventilation opening for the dissipation of heat from the socket re of the lamp.
