Zusammenfassung:The patient wears a special shoe which has a cup (1) supporting and surrounding the patient's heel. The heel cup and shoe may be held in place by a band (2) which passes over the instep of the patient's foot. The cup is made of two pieces of sheet material nested together and held a short distance apart by a Belleville washer. A heavy load on the patient's foot causes the Belleville washer to snap into its other stable position, reducing the clearance between the two pieces of sheet material.
