Zusammenfassung:	The device includes a torsion shaft subjected to the drive torque and rotated about a rotation axis (8) for transmission of the torque and attached source element (16) cooperating with a stationary sensor (35) for providing a signal sequence representing the torsion shaft rotation. A second source element (34), provided by a reference element (21) secured to the first end of the torsion shaft, cooperates with the sensor for providing a second signal sequence, with evaluation of both signal sequences for calculation of the torque and the rotation direction.
