A method of fastening winding coils and/or bars of electrical machines (15-17), the winding coils and/or bars having slot- (7) and coil-endface zones (9), and consist of at least one discrete conductor provided with a bakable material. The coated conductor insulation or a conductor assembly is inductively heated, and before and/or during the inductive heating process and/or after it, the winding coils (15,17) and/or bars (16) are pressed. Before, after or during the pressing process, the winding coils and/or bars are cooled. The complete winding coil (15,17) and/or the complete bar (16) or only the slot zones located later in the winding coil and/or bar slots (15,17) are inductively heated, and with it, the coil parts (9) which are not to be fastened, are cooled, at the same time.
