Zusammenfassung:Method and system for monitoring the hooves of animals, for example of cloven-hoofed animals. The system is provided with a detector mat (13) for detecting a pressure profile of at least one hoof of a cloven-hoofed animal. The system also has a processor (18) that is connected to the detector mat (13) and to a database (19) for storing hoof parameters. The processor (18) is equipped to detect a pressure profile of at least one hoof of a cloven-hoofed animal, to derive characteristic hoof parameters from the pressure profile and to compare the detected hoof parameters with stored hoof parameters in order to detect a specific abnormality.
