Zusammenfassung:	Crystalline dextrose is ≥ 98 % pure, comprises ≥ 95% alpha crystalline form of dextrose and has specified compressibility Independent claims is/are included for the following: (a). The above dextrose where the compressibility in a test A is 180 - 200 N and in test B ≥ 220 N and preferably ≥ 230 N. (b) The above dextrose has a water content ≥ 1% and where the compressibility in a test A ≥ 70 N and preferably 90 - 200 N. (c) Preparing (b) from dextrose in mono hydrate form by successive re-humidifying and crystallising stages using an appropriate agent and a final maturing/ drying stage. (d) Use of (a) or (b) and prepared as in (c) as a dilution agent, osmotic agent, nutrient or excipient. Preferred Features: The dextrose has an apparent density (using Hosokawa method) ≤ 0.7 g/ml, preferably 0.5 - 0.6 g/ml and a grain size 50 - 1000 micro m and preferably 100 - 500 micro m. The water content is 2 - 10 % and preferably 5 - 9.5 %.
