Zusammenfassung:	The switching device has a tilter (1) supported on the bicycle frame (3), with a chain guide (5) that can be moved between at least two struts (4,5) of a parallelogram or similar component, to change the chain from one chain plate to another. The chain guide is moved by an operation unit in the handlebar area, and is connected to the tilter by a cable (11,12) of at least one actuating link. Two lever arms (7,8) are connected to at least one strut with fixing points (9,10) for the cables. The fixing points are spaced from the rotation points of at least one strut at the fixed part (2) of the tilter or at the chain guide.
