Zusammenfassung:	The invention concerns a method of producing shaped bodies, in particular for packaging, from biodegradable material and using a viscous mass which contains biodegradable fibrous material in a mixture of fibres of different lengths, water and starch, the viscous mass being baked in a baking mould to form a fibrous material-starch composite. The invention further concerns shaped bodies produced according to this method. After baking, the shaped body is coated, preferably in an inline process carried out in the baking device, to render it fluid-tight and/or the shaped body is made water-repellent owing to impregnation of the viscous mass after baking.
