The device for collecting and/or treating and carrying away liquids, multiphase systems or liquids containing lumpy materials, primarily waste water, has a container with inflow and drainage apertures, with a pump situated in the liquids chamber and with turbulence-generating elements, the pressure supports of the pump being connected with the drainage aperture of the container, the turbulence-generating element being a mechanical agitator (4) and roughened surfaces (35) in the liquids chamber being used to break up and comminute. The device for collecting and discharging multiphase media, primarily waste water, has a container fitted with a pipe for intake of waste water and a pipe for discharge of waste water and has inside the container a pump engine unit that contains an electric motor and a hydraulic unit fixed to the shaft thereof, the electric motor and the shaft being sealingly separated from each other within a common housing. The pump engine unit (1) has two hydraulic units which are fixed at one end or at the two ends of the shaft of the electric motor (2), and the shaft of the electric motor (2) is disposed horizontally or at an acute angle to the horizontal.
