R = 9-21 carbon (C) alk(en)yl; A , A = 2-4 C alkylene; R , R , R = hydrogen (H), 1-4 C alkyl or -A -OH or -A -OH; n = 1-5; X = a chemical bond or -CR R -; R , R = H, 1-4 C alkyl or 1-4 C hydroxyalkyl or R = hydroxyl (OH). Also claimed are mixtures of (fatty acid alkanolamine esters of formula R -C(O)-O-ÄA -N(R )Ün-A -N(R )(R ) (V) and fatty acid hydroxyalkyl esters of formula R -C(O)-O-CH2-X-CH2-OH (VI) in 5:95 to 95:5 molar ratio;
