Zusammenfassung:The use of new and known 3,7-diazabicyclo(3,3,1)nonane compounds of formula (i) as diuretics is claimed. R1 = 1-6C alkyl, 3-6C alkylene, 4-9C cycloalkyl or benzyl; R2, R3 = lower alkyl, or R2 and R3 together form a 3-6C alkylene chain; R4 = as R1, or is -Z-Ph or -CH(Ph)2, where each Ph group is opt. substd. by one halo, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy gp. The use of N,N-dicyclopropylmethyl-9,9-tetramethylene-3,7-diazabicyclo(3,3,1)nonane (Ia) and N-iso-butyl-N'-isopropyl-9,9-pentamethylene-3,7-diazabicyclo(3,3,1)nonane is specifically claimed. (I) are new when R4 = -(CH2)n-Ph, where n = 1-3 and the Ph group is substituted by halo, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy. If n = 2 or 3, then the Ph group may be unsubstituted.
