The invention relates to an orientation device for a bogie of a vehicle equipped with tyred wheels which bear on a pair of running trackways forming the track along which the vehicle runs; this device comprises a guiding roller (1), the mean plane (P) of which is held parallel or substantially parallel to that of the wheels of the bogie and which can rotate about its own axis (A) engaging in a guide groove (rut) (2) embedded between the aforementioned trackways of the track before each fork; this roller is carried by the chassis (B) of the bogie via laminated connection blocks (8a, 8b, 9a, 9b) which give the roller, with respect to the bogie, a degree of rotational freedom, of slight amplitude, about a vertical axis passing through its centre, and a degree of translational freedom, also of slight amplitude, in the direction of its own axis (A) but preventing the roller from moving with respect to the bogie in the vertical direction.
