In the case of a wall made of glass blocks (6) arranged in structural elements in the form of a grid, the latter are assembled from board-shaped longitudinal elements (2a,2b,2c, etc.) and transverse elements (3a,3b,3c,3d, etc.), the width of the longitudinal elements (2a,2b,2c, etc.) exceeding the thickness of the glass blocks (6). The glass blocks (6) are inserted in grid openings (5) which enclose in each case two longitudinal elements and transverse elements, arranged at a distance from one another, and the size of which corresponds to the size of the glass blocks (6). The glass blocks (6) are held on both sides by locking elements (11a,11b,12a,12b) engaging in cutouts of the longitudinal elements and/or transverse elements. The locking elements can be easily released, with the result that the glass blocks (6) can be readily removed. This permits simple assembly and simple dismantling and/or displacement of erected walls made of glass blocks in order to correspond to changing requirements, this being particularly advantageous, for example, for the use of glass walls for exhibition stands or the like.
