Zusammenfassung:	The connecting element according to the invention, having eyes for holding joints, bearings or attachment elements, consists of a tube or of a profile (1) like a tube. The tube ends are flattened so that the tube walls run towards one another from the undeformed region in a pointed manner and merge into flat tongues (4) at the ends. The eyes (2) are formed into these tongues (4) by flow-boring. This produces eyes (2) having solid walls (3) which project out of the tongues (4) like beads. In order to increase the torsional stiffness, a reinforcing bead (6) can be formed in the region of the deformed tube ends. In addition, the gap (5) between the tube walls which rest on one another can be filled, for example, with a bonding agent or a solder material.
