A measuring arrangement for measuring the variation of a fluid quantity in a storage space (2) which receives the liquid has a measuring chamber (8) and a reference measuring chamber (10) of identical construction. Both chambers (8, 10) are connected to the storage space (2) so as to communicate before the measurement so that identical liquid levels (14, 15, 16) are established. For the measurement, the connection between the reference measuring chamber (10) and the storage space (2) is interrupted. Therefore, when liquid is consumed, the liquid level (14) in the measuring chamber declines in the same manner as the liquid level (16) in the storage space (2) while the liquid level (15) in the reference measuring chamber essentially remains the same. The levels (14, 15) are measured by means of interval measuring devices (24, 25) and subtracted from one another in an evaluation device (36) and processed, if appropriate, to form a liquid consumption value after correction due to temperature-related changes in the liquid levels (14, 15).
