An Independent claim is also included for a process for producing an insulating coating comprising forming a sealing layer by applying a cold-worked sealing composition, and applying vacuum insulating panels as heat insulating layers on the sealing composition. Preferred Features: The cold-worked sealing composition is a processed bituminous composition which can be reactively hardened. The vacuum insulating panels are embedded in the sealing composition.
