Zusammenfassung:	The column has two linear drives (2, 3) arranged in an anti-parallel manner and functionally connected one after another. An inner unit (6) of the drives extends relative to an outer unit (5) during movement for adjusting height of a medical treatment desk. The drives are designed as pressurizing medium-operable cylinders or piston-arrangements. The inner unit is connected by a coupling part (7) with guiding surfaces (14), which cooperate with the outer unit in an operating direction. The surfaces directly cooperate with outer surfaces of the tubular hydraulic cylinders (4) of the drives.
