Process for the preparation of excipient-free agglomerates of beta-lactam antibiotics

The invention proposes excipient-free agglomerates of β-lactam antibiotics which are suitable for direct tableting and which are characterized in that the agglomerates have an average volume-based particle size of 200-1 000 μm with the following particle size distribution: 1000 μm: max. 30% >2000...

Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:The invention proposes excipient-free agglomerates of β-lactam antibiotics which are suitable for direct tableting and which are characterized in that the agglomerates have an average volume-based particle size of 200-1 000 μm with the following particle size distribution: 1000 μm: max. 30% >2000 μm: max. 0.5% and an apparent density of from 0.4 to 0.8 g/ml. These agglomerates are prepared by making a paste of the active ingredients with a liquid, and extruding through a twin screw extruder and drying.
