PROCESS FOR PREPARING A COMPOSITION SUPPLEMENTING A FOODSTUFF AND/OR FEEDSTUFF

The invention relates to a process for preparing a composition supplementing a foodstuff or feedstuff, according to which a nutrient solution having mineral water of natural origin, if appropriate enriched with metal compounds up to a concentration of 10-2 mol/l calculated for each metal ion, is sterilized and inoculated with a pure algal culture, a carbon-dioxide- containing sterile air stream is passed through the nutrient solution at room temperature, the algae are removed after a growth period of 7-30 days at a temperature of 0 to 80 degree C, the algae obtained are, if appropriate, digested by means of known physical or chemical methods, and if appropriate admixed with at least one metal compound to achieve a concentration of at most 10-2 mol/kg, calculated for each metal ion, and the resultant algal mass is mixed with at least one food additive or feed additive which is known per se, preferably preservative and/or diluent, in particular cereal starch and/or bran, as well as optionally at least one active additive material, preferably honey, globin, blood plasma, cereal germ, pollen and/or dust of plant origin in a mass ratio of, based on the total weight of the composition, 0.05 to 95% by mass of algal mass, optionally 0.05-50% by mass of active additive material and the respective remainder to 100% by mass of food additive or feed additive.
