Zusammenfassung: | During the magnetization of many particles which can be magnetized to the same intensity or to some extent to different intensities, it is possible for chains to form as a result of deposition of the particles on one another, these chains essentially being aligned in the direction of the magnetic induction produced by the magnetic separator. The object of the invention is to provide a magnetic separator which avoids these disadvantages. According to the invention, this is achieved in that in the separation volume, the magnetic induction is approximately perpendicular to the gradient of the magnetic field. The exciter coils 3 and 5, which are arranged above the plane of symmetry 2, have current flowing through them, for example in the positive direction, the exciter coils 4 and 6, which are arranged underneath the plane of symmetry 2, accordingly likewise have current flowing through them in the positive direction. As a result of the equidirectional current flow arrangement, the magnetic flux between the coil pairs 3, 5 on one side and 4, 6 on the other side bulges out, so that a gradient in the magnetic field is produced, which is approximately perpendicular to the magnetic induction produced by the coils, and an approximately constant separation-force density is generated in the annular-channel-like separation volume 7. |
