The crankshaft can be mounted in the closed crankcase, a process in which, first of all, the main bearing journals are inserted into the main bearing bores and the crankshaft is then assembled fully by fixing the crank pins and counterweights by means of the bolts arranged perpendicular to the axis of the crankshaft.
