Zusammenfassung:1441918 Lubricants UNILEVER-EMERY NV 18 July 1973 [20 July 1972] 34010/72 Heading C5F [Also in Division C2] Lubricant base fluids comprise novel ester mixtures obtained by fully esterifying a hindered alcohol (defined as comprising the structure e.g. pentaerythritol, trimethylol propane), with a mixture of 5-90 mole per cent of isostearic acid and 10-95 mole per cent of at least one straight or branched chain monocarboxylic alkanoic acid having 3 to 12 carbon atoms per molecule (e.g. isononanoic, pelargonic, heptanoic). Comparative ester mixtures are prepared from 100% isostearic acid and 100% isononanoic acid, the hindered alcohol being pentaerythritol.
