Zusammenfassung:1,078,776. Feeding record tapes. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 18, 1965 [Feb. 21, 1964], No. 7065/65. Heading G5R. [Also in Division H2] Record tape 1 is driven by spindle 4 associated with pressure rollers 10, 11, and coupled to flywheel 12 and motor 13. Push-buttons 14, 15, 16, control the fast forward,- normal forward, and reverse operations of the motor respectively, an interlocking device 30 ensuring that only one button is effective at a time. If an operation of the motor is interrupted by actuating one of the buttons, the pressure rollers are disengaged from the tape and switch 28 opens the motor supply circuit. While the motor is decelerating, it energizes electromagnet 24 of lock 22 so that member 25 retains the buttons 14, 15, 16, by cams 26. It is not until the motor has stopped that the lock is released and further operation of the motor can be initiated. Separate members may be provided for controlling the motor and the pressure rollers respectively, these members being associated with switches in circuit with a lock-operating relay which is maintained energized by the motor voltage during the run-down period. Alternatively, the relay may be de-energized during the run-down period, for energizing the lock through normallyclosed contacts. The operating member for controlling the pressure roller may be held in an operative position by an electromagnet against the force of a spring, the electromagnet also serving to lock the operating member. In a further embodiment, the locking arrangement comprises a transistor whose input circuit includes a capacitor and the base of which is D.C.-coupled to the collector of a further transistor of the same conductivity type. The motor voltage is applied to the input circuit of the last-mentioned transistor for controlling a lock-operating relay.
