International studies proved that victims of sexual abuse in childhood will be
perpetrator and sexually abuser in the future, this problem was not studied in Iraq .

The objectives of this study were to identify the extent of the problem according to
teachers knowledge and to determine the most important associated factors related to
this neglected health problem.
A random sample of 228 teachers from 162 randomly selected primary schools in
Babylon province during the academic year 2013-2014 . A validated reliable
questionnaire was used to collect data.
Four fifth of teachers believed that this kind of abuse was highly prevalent in
their schools and they considered it as a silent problem, about 12.3% of the teachers
participated in this study were exposed to conduct and non-conduct sexual abuse
during their childhood two third of the victims were females.
