Zusammenfassung: | The present experiment was performed to evaluate the efficacy of Iraqi probiotic Tor improving semen quality of White layer roosters. Sixty White layer roosters( 24 wk old) were used and randomly assigned to one of three dietary treatments ( 20 roosters each with two replicates ) consisting of standard diet (16.5% crude protein and 2850 kcal/kg ME) supplemented with 0,0_3, and 0.6 % Iraqi nrobiotic(IP) for treatments Tt, T2 and T3, respectively. Experimental period lasted 10 weeks (24-33 wk of age). Semen samples were weekly collected from all roosters to evaluate spermatozoa concentration, spermatocrit, dead spermatozoa, abnormal spermatozoa, acrosomal abnormalities, mass activity, and individual motilitv.Cumulative means showed significant increase in spermatozoa concentration (2.45, 2.56 and 2.67 biliion/ml), spermatocrit (7.5, S. 7 and 9.7%), mass activity (82.5,86.4 and 88.2%), and individual motility (84.1. 88.8 and 91.2%) due to addition orlP at 0,0.3, and 0.6% to the diet, respectively. Also, there is a significant reduction in percentages of dead spermatozoa (21.1,12.8 and 11.3%),abnormal spermatozoa (19.3, 14.8 and 11.9%), and acrosomal abnormalities ( 20.1,14.2 and 11.9%) due to addition of IP at 0,0.3 and 0.6 % to the diet, respectively. II* supplemen tation led to a continuous improvement in semen quality parameters when used up to 0.6 % in White layer roosters diet and our recommendation was to increase the addition level of IP to maximize the possibility of obtaining better semen quality parameters. |
