Zusammenfassung: | This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a virtual group counseling program based on psycho-education on marital satisfaction among married university students. The sample composed of 24 married male university students at Hashemite University who were distributed randomly into an experimental group and a control group. The study employed a marital satisfaction inventory that was composed of five subscales (global distress, communication for problem-solving, effective communication, spending time together, and sexual satisfaction). The psychoeducation counseling program consisted of 10 sessions (120 minutes for each, one session per week). The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences in marital satisfaction between the post means for the two study groups in favor of the experimental one. The results also revealed statistically significant differences between the post-test and the 3 monthly follow- up assessment for all marital satisfaction inventory subscales except the global distress subscale for the participants in the experimental group in favor of the 3 months follow-up, which means the program failed to preserve therapeutic gains during the follow-up assessment time. |
