Zusammenfassung: | The electroosmotic flow in a straight cylindrical capillary with a porous gel layer on its wall is considered, taking into account an ion's interaction with the porous layer. It is shown theoretically that this interaction substantially modifies electrokinetic phenomena and it is possible to observe electrokinetic phenomena even in the absence of any fixed charge on the solid surface (ζ potential equals zero) and inside the gel layer. In this case, electrokinetic phenomena are strongly dependent on electrolyte type. For example, electrophoretic motion of a porous particle covered with such a gel layer may occur in the opposite directions for different electrolytes. The influence of electrolyte concentration and electrolyte type on electrokinetic phenomena in the presence of the gel layer is investigated. |
