Egg membrane protect eyes from ALA photodynamic therapy for eyelid actinic keratosis: Two cases report

Highlights • There is a greater difficulty in treating patients suffering from eyelid margin AK with ALA-PDT. • Two patients suffering from eyelid margin AK who were effectively cured with egg membrane pretreatment before ALA photodynamic therapy. • There was no recurrence after a four-month follow-up. No obvious discomfort and no secondary infection occured in the patients’ eyes both during and after the treatment. • The present research is of extending significance in treating patients suffering from similar symptoms with ALA-PDT therapy.
