Detection of Acute Arterial Occlusion During Artery Bypass Surgery for a Lower Extremity by Monitoring Regional Saturation of Oxygen of the Foot Sole

Zusammenfassung:We experienced a case in which unexpected acute arterial occlusion during revascularization for a lower extremity was detected by a sudden decrease in regional tissue oxygen saturation (rSO2) with near-infrared spectroscopy. After an additional vascular bypass had been established, rSO2 gradually improved. In our case, rSO2 measurement was useful for detecting acute arterial occlusion during vascular bypass surgery.
