Participants included Military and Civilian entities from Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile; United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America; Nongovernmental organizations; U.S. Navy Energy Task Force; and the U.S. Department of Energy. Topics: Regional Climate Change Trends, Mitigation and Adaptation Issues, and Civil-Military Collaboration in the Region. Focused Discussions were held on Key trends and challenges from a military perspective, Civilian-Military Collaboration opportunities (Intergovernmental coordination), a Framework for future engagements, and Lessons learned with the U.S. Navy Energy Task Force. Presented at the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Environment, Energy Security & Sustainability (E2S2) Symposium & Exhibition held 9-12 May 2011 in New Orleans, LA.
