Zusammenfassung:During late December 1995 through January 1996 an outbreak of rash-associated illness occurred among units supporting Operation Joint Endeavor. In March a second outbreak occurred among U.S. Forces participating in a joint NATO training exercise, Cooperative Adventure Express 96. A multi-disciplinary preventive medicine team investigated the outbreak sites and affected units and collected environmental and clinical laboratory specimens for analysis. The common factor uniting the two events was unit activity in northern Belgium. This article provides a brief update of significant findings. Pub. in Medical Surveillance Monthly Report (MSMR), v2 n4, p1-24, April 1996.
