Zusammenfassung: | Since October 1985, the U.S. military has conducted routine screening for antibodies to HIV-1 among civilian applicants for U.S. military service. Since 1986, all members of the active and reserve components of the U.S. Armed Forces have been periodically screened for antibodies to HIV-1. This report summarizes prevalences and trends of HIV-1 antibody seropositivity among civilian applicants for military service and members of the active and reserve components of the U.S. Army who have been screened since 1990.
