Zusammenfassung: | We are providing this report for information and use. This report is the second in a series of reports on the overall management of The Objective Individual Combat Weapon (OICW). The first report, DoD Inspector General Report No. D-2006-004, Acquisition of the Objective Individual Combat Weapon, October 7, 2005, addressed an internal control weakness associated with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology). During the audit of the acquisition of the OICW Increments II and III, we determined that the Army had not completed the requirements process for the OICW Increments II and III. As a result, we recommend that the Army discontinue further development and funding of OICW Increments II and III until each of those increments has a capability development document approved by the Joint Requirements Oversight Council. |
