Zusammenfassung:Title I, 121 of SARA specifies that for any hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant that remains on-site, the level or standard of control that must be met shall be at least that of any legally applicable or relevant and appropriate regulation (ARAR), standard, criteria, or limitation under any federal environmental law or any more stringent standard promulgated under state environmental or facility siting law. The U.S. Army Toxic and Hazardous Materials Agency (USATHAMA) has asked the support of the Chemical Effects Information Task Croup in the Chemical Hazard Evaluation Program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for assistance in determining ARARs for Alabama Army Ammunition Plant (AAAP), currently listed on the National Priorities List (NPL) (52 FR 27620, July 22, 1987). Supporting documentation for this report includes the Alabama Army Ammunition Plant Installation Assessment (USATHAMA 1978); the final remedial investigation (RI) (ESE 1986); the final feasibility study (FS)(ESE 1987); and the remedial action reports by Weston (1987, 1988).
