Zusammenfassung:The TNO gap test is one method to determine the shock sensitivity of a high explosive. The system consists of a donor charge, a polymethylmethacrylate PMMA attenuator (the gap) and an acceptor charge (the high explosive to be tested). The shock pressure delivered to the acceptor is varied by changing the length of the gap. The donor system (donor charge and attenuator) has been calibrated six times. This has been necessary because the composition of the hexocire donor has been changed in November 1994. The calibration is performed by determining the shock pressure as a function of the length of the gap. It appears that the change of composition of the hexocire donor results in an other calibration curve. The reproducibility of the calibration curves is too small at lower (i.e. shorter than 10 mm) and higher gap length (longer than 40 mm). This is also caused by the fit method. The determined calibration curves can be used between gap length from 10 mm until 40 mm. Text in Dutch. Abstract in Dutch and English.
