Zusammenfassung:This paper examines the need for a program of Joint Warfare Analysis as an option in Joint Professional Military Education, Phase I, for intermediate level officers. The findings are based on structured interviews with 50 senior flag officers on whose staffs graduates would serve. Graduates of such a program are considered important on Joint and Service Command staffs, and half the respondents consider them essential and would trade off a current billet for such a graduate. The curriculum should include studies campaign analysis, simulation and joint exercise evaluation. It is estimated that 30 to 40 graduates would be needed each year to fill 90 to 130 billets on Joint and major Service command staffs.
