Zusammenfassung:Under the BRDEC Prototype Engineering Contract, DAAK 70-92-D-0002, Vitro was tasked to design and construct a Standard Army Refueling System (SARS) receiving system for a Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV), a retrofit kit for the BFV, and a mock-up refueling system to demonstrate the performance of the receiving system and retrofit kit. The period of performance was May 1994 to October 1995. The task was managed by the Fuel and Water Supply Division, Mobility Technology Center-Belvoir, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Vitro analyzed the refueling characteristics of the SARS and BFV and designed a retrofit kit for the BFV that uses the existing filler point, allows gravity refueling if necessary, and requires minimum alterations. A mock-up refueling system consisting of supply, transfer, and receiving sections, including the retrofit kit, was constructed and tested.
