Zusammenfassung:Two optical detection systems were used to obtain Raman spectra from impregnant samples, tungsten pellets, and cathode surfaces. The advantages of each system are described and their use for cathode diagnostics are explored. The Raman spectra from various impregnant samples are given and preliminary data from tungsten pellets and cathodes at low pressure and at temperatures as high as 860 C are presented.
